David Evan Thomas has been honored with two McKnight Foundation Fellowships, awards from the American Academy of Arts & Letters, and commissions from the Minnesota Orchestra and Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. From 2002-2005, Thomas was FaithPartners composer-in-residence with the Cathedral of St. Paul and Westminster Presbyterian Church, and he continues to be associated with many churches in the Twin Cities. Born in Rochester, NY in 1958, Thomas studied at Northwestern University, where he was a member of the Alice Millar Chapel Choir, Eastman School, and with Dominick Argento at the University of Minnesota. His music is published by ECS, MorningStar and Augsburg Fortress. Thomas lives in Minneapolis.
