Ashild Watne Åshild Watne is a Norwegian composer, singer and university teacher. Cand. philol. University of Oslo 1990. Student at St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota 1982-83 and a singer of the St. Olaf Choir. A singer of the Norwegian Soloist Choir 1984-2004, with conductors Knut Nystedt and Grete Pedersen. Presently teaching music at the Univ. of Oslo and at the Norwegian State Academy of Music.
She has worked as a musician in various genres, especially with Norwegian traditional music, singing and playing old Norwegian string instruments. She has written many songs for children and is represented with a liturgy and melodies in the Norwegian hymnal.
