Patterned originally on the German gymnasium educational model of four years of high school and two of college, Concordia evolved in the 1930s into a separate high school/prep school and a two-year junior college. Then some 30 years ago, Concordia realized a long-standing dream and became a four-year college. Graduates of all three iterations of Concordia continue to be loyal alumni today.
Concordia has a proud heritage, a glimpse of which you will find when you visit campus, speak with our students and faculty, and explore the pages of our website. But most important today are the people whose shared vision propels us toward a future filled with promise. We take assurance in the fact that the God of ages, who has been with us from the beginning, will be with us for the years to come.
The Concordia Experience is rooted in a rigorous liberal arts curriculum that includes experiential learning. We offer academic excellence combined with opportunities to serve the greater community, provide leadership opportunities and our professors are closely engaged with our students. Real world experience is at the heart of who we are and the kind of unique education we provide.
Choose from one of Concordia’s dynamic, interdisciplinary majors in Biology, Business, Teacher Education, Exploring Students (Undeclared), English, Health Studies, History, International Studies, Liberal Studies, Nursing, Psychology, Radiologic Technologies, Social Sciences, and Social Work—and you’ll be on a course of self-discovery towards a career that fits your purpose and your passion.
Each major is built upon a strong liberal arts foundation—The Concordia Distinctive—that will empower you to see the interconnection of ideas, to feel compassion for others, to express yourself thoughtfully and effectively, to see the beauty in science and art, and to remain a lifelong learner who will share your gifts with the world.
