Art Major

The Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Art offers emphases in Art Education, Graphic Design, and Studio Art. The requirements within the Art major will enable you to gain skills in drawing, design, color theory, and art history. You will then choose one of the three emphases as your concentration. Each emphasis empowers you to follow a distinct vocational path in the visual arts. You will have the opportunity to work in conducive studio spaces and a Mac computer lab outside of class time.

In this major you will create art and design that utilizes the elements and principles of design, strong drawing skills and composition while you also build aesthetic and communication capabilities. The relationship of technique and content is further explored while you are introduced to art history, contemporary practices, and a distinct cultural awareness. This major empowers you to follow an exciting vocational path in the visual arts. You will leave the program equipped for a successful future in your chosen field.

Music Major

The Music major at Concordia University Irvine will empower you to cultivate and articulate human thought and feeling through involvement with the mechanical, cultural, and aesthetic elements of music.

Theatre Major

The Theatre major will prepare you for careers in acting, directing and technical theatre, as well as for graduate programs in these areas. As a Theatre major, you will take a set of required classes and then can choose either an emphasis in Acting and Directing or Design and Technical Production. Our goal is to encourage you to be a well-rounded professional who is prepared for a variety of careers in the arts, entertainment, and theatre education fields.
