Thurlow Weed Rt. Rev\'d Thurlow Weed is a composer and organist living in Lancaster, Ohio. He serves as organist and composer-in-residence at St Johns\' Episcopal Church in Lancaster, Ohio. Before moving to Ohio, he lived in Key West, Florida, where his father was the minister of a small Bahamian Presbyterian congregation. He was confirmed as an Episcopalian at St. Paul\'s Church in Key West and served there in numerous capacities, including cantor and sub-organist. He was concurrently Minister of Music at St. Peter\'s Episcopal Church (Key West), a small Bahamian Anglo-Catholic parish.

He serves as Secretary General of the Progressive Episcopal Church, and also as Bishop of the Diocese of the West.

Rev. Weed primarily composes hymns in the English metrical form, with some 100 tunes to date; the tune \"Guilsborough\" was published in the new hymnal of the Presbyterian Church. He also also composed choral and liturgical music, including a Missa Solemnis which was premiered in Ballarat, Australia in 2009.

He has used numerous texts by contemporary hymn-writers including Michael Morgan, Michael Hudson, and Christopher L. Webber.
