Lisa M Clark Lisa writes and edits for Concordia Publishing House. A 2004 graduate of Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska, she holds a Lutheran Teacher Diploma and has experience in secondary education. She also has an MA degree in English: Writing Studies from University of Missouri--St. Louis.




Lisa loves to write for a variety of genres: devotionals, books for children, hymn texts, fiction, and the like. Her blog, Why of a Writer, sets out to encourage Christian writers.

About a third of her 350+ hymn texts have been or will be published through Concordia Publishing House, many through Creative Worship for the Lutheran Parish. Ten choral arrangements using her texts include collaborations with Jonathan Kohrs, Mark Knickelbein, Kevin Hildebrand, David von Kampen, and Ben Culli.
