Dr. Lindsay J. Twa is an Associate Professor of Art and Chair of the Art and Anthropology Department at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD. She is also the Director of the Eide/Dalrymple Gallery at Augustana, where she has curated over seventy-five exhibitions, published several catalogues, and oversees a permanent art collection of over 3,500 objects. She holds a B.A. in studio art and music from Concordia College and an M.A. and Ph.D. in art history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her research focuses on African-American art and art of the black diaspora. Her recent publications include the book Visualizing Haiti in U.S. Culture, 1910-1950 (Ashgate) and articles in Smithsonian American Art and Gradhiva.
