I have spent three decades living and working in multicultural, multilingual communities in the south Bronx, Philadelphia and Minneapolis. Much of my writing arises from that experience. I am currently working on a series of poems that touch on immigration and work. My stories are set in urban communities, with characters that live and create on the margins of society. I am working with a group of teen writers and artists in Minneapolis, and together we are bringing poetry to new venues such as block parties. In my blog, I explore the connection between beauty and justice, and how the Spirit moves to bring them to life.
